Descrizione:
l’uno all’altro.
ritrovarsi. Technique: pencil and marker on lightbox (parchment paper, led, wood)

Description:
The work consists of seven quadrangular lightboxes, one of which is ellipsoidal. There
the form of the latter recalls the iconography of the almond, a symbol of life and often
associated with the figure of Christ or the Madonna. Its geometric shape derives from
superposition of two circles, whose intersection represents the union of two worlds,
or the Divine and the Human, spiritual and material, different from each other but still linked
to one another. It therefore represents the balance between two entities at first irreconcilable between
them, what can be the light and the shadow, the good and the bad.
Inside this ellipsoidal lightbox there is a squatting human figure, reminiscent of the
fetal position (reference to birth), around which the piercing points branch out
the paper letting the light through. A further communication reference between being
human with the spirit that is represented here by the light coming from inside the
box. A force that can be both external and internal to the person.
The other six lightboxes present moments of communication with the absolute, starting
by the man who sees the light, up to the sharing of this.
Human figures are deliberately stylized, bringing the representation back to a state
primitive, always linked to the theme of birth and specifically rebirth, reporting to
a connection with nature and therefore with the spirit a people afflicted by consumerism.
The seven lightboxes are arranged to form the Ursa Minor constellation where the star
polar is represented by the ellipsoidal box. The reference to this constellation is
determined by its use as a reference point in navigation and therefore in the work
indicates the need for guidance. The seven lightboxes also present the
same colors as the stars that make up the constellation, not only to accentuate its
reference, but also to arouse those emotions that suggest the drawings: ad
example the blue suggests the darkness and the sense of bewilderment of the man looking towards
the shadow. The work makes sense when the light is on: without the light we don't see, we don't
perceive and we do not know. It is an invitation to look beyond, to heaven, within oneself for find himself.
